The gas leaked from the Bhopal gas tragedy had killed over 3,000 people in the world's worst industrial disasters. However, the Supreme Court said that the dispute cannot be reopened after the final settlement in 1989. This is a setback for the victims as the Supreme Court declined the curative plea of the center filed against the Union Carbide Corporation in 2010.
