1:46Now PlayingRetail inflation in India moderated slightly in February to 6.44%, remaining above the RBI's tolerance level for a second consecutive month, according to information issued by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on Monday. The consumer price index-based measure of inflation reached a three-month high of 6.52 percent in January. Retail inflation was 5.72 percent in December and 5.88 percent in November. In February 2022, the inflation rate was 6.07 percent on an annual basis. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is required to maintain headline inflation within the permissible range of 2–6%.
