His post, which asserts that "Hindutva is built on lies," offended Hindus, according to the lawsuit against him. He was taken into custody by Sheshadripuram police in Bangalore. The actor, a Dalit and tribal campaigner, was brought before a local court. He is charged with encouraging racial enmity and denigrating a religion or religious beliefs.
