One-fourth of India's population is under the age of 14, putting it ahead of China, whose population is ageing. India's population is expected to continue growing until it reaches around 1.65 billion people, after which it will begin to decline. To sustain this population, India must create sufficient job opportunities, particularly for women, while drawing inspiration from China's export-driven manufacturing growth during its population growth. In comparison to China, which is expected to become more urban by 2035, the majority of India's population is rural.
