In an effort to increase the party's Lingayat outreach before the assembly elections, he will take part in the Basava Jayanti celebrations in the Bagalkote district today. During his trip to the state that is close to the election, the Congress leader is expected to stop in the districts of Bagalkote and Vijaypur. Rahul Gandhi will travel to Hubbali and then stop by Basavanna's Unity Hall and Kudalasangama Temple. He will take part in the Basava Jayanti celebrations at the Dasoha Bhavan and Basava Mantapa in Kudalasangama. He will hold a roadshow from 5 to 6:30 in the evening before leaving for Vijaypur.
