1:07Now PlayingThe Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn a National Green Tribunal (NGT) judgement appointing the Delhi lieutenant governor to lead a high-level committee on Yamuna river pollution and solid waste management. The appeal filed on Tuesday sought directions to set aside the January 9 NGT order for what it called the sidelining of the elected government through a "unelected figurehead" who is "bound to act on the aid and advice of the council of ministers" for violating two Supreme Court orders issued in July 2018 and May 11, this year.
