6:21Now PlayingBreaking News: The Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Kharif crops for the marketing year 2023–2024 was raised by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday. The step would ensure that growers obtain fair prices for their goods and would also encourage crop diversification, according to Union Minister Piyush Goyal. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the increase in MSP for all necessary Kharif (summer) crops for the crop year 2023–2024. In an interview with the media, Minister of Food and Consumer Affairs Goyal said: "In agriculture, we have been periodically modifying MSP based on the recommendations of the CACP (Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices). The increase in MSP for Kharif crops this year is the biggest compared to previous years.
