Rahul Narwekar, the speaker of the assembly, said that he will respond appropriately to the NCP's request to have Ajit Pawar and 8 other party members removed from office. The nine legislators have been disqualified by a decision that the NCP's disciplinary committee also approved. After approving the resolution late Sunday night, the committee's chair, Jaiprakash Dandegaonkar, gave a report to NCP president Sharad Pawar. On Sunday, Maharashtra NCP President Jayant Patil said that his party has filed a petition to remove Ajit Pawar and eight more people from office.
