The group, which included 21 MPs, presented the President with a paper outlining atrocities against women, rehabilitation, and other situations in Manipur. The I.N.D.I.A Alliance asked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit Manipur and take actions to restore peace in the state. The group was also concerned about the Prime Minister's silence on the Manipur violence. President Murmu had earlier been urged by the Civil Society Coalition to visit Manipur and condemn sexual violence. Following a request from the Opposition, President Murmu agreed to meet with Opposition MPs on August 2, 2023
