Raids are ongoing in Lucknow, Rampur, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Saharanpur and Sitapur. According to reports, the income-tax department launched raids at over 30 premises in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh as part of a tax evasion probe against the Samajwadi Party leader and those linked to him. Reports say that the I-T probe is related to some trusts run by Khan and his family members. Since 2017, 2017, as many as 81 cases have been registered against Khan in Rampur on various charges.
