The AAP government, which rules the state, has defended the police action and has alleged that Khaira was part of a drug syndicate. The Congress, however, has criticized the AAP government for engaging in “vendetta politics” and trying to silence the opposition. Khaira, who was a former AAP leader, was sent to two days’ police custody by a Jalalabad court on Thursday. He has refuted any involvement in the case and has said that he is being victimized. Now that Rahul Gandhi has reached Amritsar, he met with Punjab Governor Binwarilal Purohit. The governor has now asked for a report from Punjab DGP. Watch!
