The Supreme Court's ruling asserts that marriage is not considered a fundamental right and falls under the jurisdiction of the government. In addition to this decision, the Supreme Court has also denied the right to marriage, the right to a civil union, and the right to adoption to the queer community. The Supreme Court has now entrusted the central government to address the concerns of the queer community. A high-powered committee led by the cabinet secretary will explore potential rights, such as joint bank accounts, pensions, and co-ownership opportunities for the queer community. Our panel of experts will provide insights and analysis on this important development.
