The authorities are putting in efforts to curb the pollution but the output is nil. Air pollution in Mumbai, which has persisted since the end of the monsoon and the start of early winter in October, prompted the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to take action. The BMC identified over 6,000 construction sites as major sources of pollution and, on October 20, issued a set of measures to address this issue. These measures include deploying anti-smog guns, sprinklers at construction sites, specialized teams to apprehend offenders, and the daily cleaning of 650 kilometers of major roads with recycled water.
