Karnataka has witnessed a surge in COVID-19 cases, with 79 new infections reported on Wednesday morning, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's COVID-19 status for states. This marks an increase of 35 cases compared to the previous day's count provided by the Karnataka health department. The rise in cases prompted the Karnataka Covid-19 Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) to issue an advisory urging individuals above 60, especially those with underlying health conditions, pregnant women, and lactating mothers, to wear face masks and avoid enclosed and crowded spaces. In neighboring Kerala, 292 fresh COVID-19 infections and three fatalities were recorded in the past 24 hours.
