The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police has initiated an investigation into allegations of a ₹50 crore withdrawal from the party fund against Shiv Sena (UBT faction). A complaint filed by Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) asserts that the UBT faction withdrew the said amount from the party fund despite the Election Commission's declaration recognizing the Shinde faction as the authentic Shiv Sena. In addition to the probe, the EOW has reached out to the Income Tax Department, seeking information about the taxpayer responsible for the UBT faction, as confirmed by Mumbai police sources.
