During the roadshow, his fans flocked to the highways, waving the flags of the saffron party as the prime minister waved at them from a hoodless car. Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the legislature, and Sukanta Majumdar, the state president of the BJP, were in the car with him. In the state's Nadia district, the prime minister earlier in the day announced many development projects valued at Rs 15,000 crore. During his speech, he said that the goal of these efforts was to transform Bengal into a developed state.
