2:32Now PlayingBreaking News: Daughter-in-law of party president Shibu Soren, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Jama MLA Sita Soren resigned from the party on Tuesday, citing "continuous neglect" in her family and "isolation by the party and family members." Sita became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) shortly after. Sita's resignation comes a few days after the Supreme Court reversed a 1998 ruling that said MPs and MLAs who accept payments to vote or speak in a particular way in the House are not exempt from punishment. Shibu Soren was one of the defendants in that case. It is alleged that during the 2012 Rajya Sabha elections, Sita accepted a bribe from an Independent candidate. She is on trial, and a decision is anticipated shortly.
