The Hindu population share experienced a decline of nearly 8%, dropping from 84% to 78%. In contrast, the Muslim population share witnessed a remarkable growth of 43% during the same period. Additionally, the shares of other minority communities, such as Christians, Buddhists, and Sikhs, increased, while the numbers of Jains and Parsis declined in the population mix.
