Chief Minister Reddy had commented on Wednesday, "If you listen to the two sisters sitting behind you, then you will end up like the Jubilee bus stand," referring to BRS MLAs Sabitha Indra Reddy and Sunitha Laxma Reddy. In response to the incident, the BRS organized a state-wide protest on Thursday.
