An 18-year-old identified as Jesse Van Rootselaar of Tumbler Ridge has been named as the suspect in a deadly mass shooting that left eight people dead. Police say the attack began at the suspect’s home, where the mother and 11-year-old stepbrother were found dead, before moving to Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. Six more victims, including a teacher and students aged 12 to 13, were killed, and at least 25 were injured. The suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Motive remains under investigation.
