These include imposing a fee of $2 million per vessel transiting the Strait, sharing the revenue with Oman, and setting rules to ensure safe passage.
Earlier, Iran described a US proposal, reportedly a 15-point plan conveyed through intermediaries, as “excessively demanding" and unrealistic. The Iranian Foreign Ministry said negotiations would move forward only if Tehran’s conditions are accepted, pointing to a hardening stance as the conflict enters its second month.
