3:14Now PlayingUS President Donald Trump on Tuesday claimed that Iran had agreed to the “highest level” of nuclear inspections and said there would be no further blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, signalling what he described as progress in ongoing negotiations with Tehran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the strategic waterway would remain open and that no additional naval blockade was planned. “Based on this and other major concessions being made by Iran, I have agreed to allow the Hormuz Strait to remain OPEN, with no further Naval Blockade. However, all ships are remaining in place should it be necessary to reinstitute the Blockade, which seems, at this point, highly unlikely,” he wrote. Trump also claimed that Iran had “fully and completely agreed to highest level Nuclear inspections”, adding that negotiations would not have continued without such an understanding.
