The package includes maintenance support, spare parts, technical assistance, logistics, training and engineering services to keep these critical platforms operational and mission-ready. India operates 28 Apache helicopters and 145 M777 howitzers, both of which play a key role in border security and high-altitude warfare. U.S. officials say the deal will enhance India's defence readiness, deepen strategic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific and help address future security challenges without altering the regional military balance.
