CENTCOM says the vessel ignored repeated warnings and attempted to breach the blockade of Iranian ports, with a US Navy MH-60 helicopter reportedly firing Hellfire missiles into its engine room. Washington says the blockade remains fully enforced, with dozens of ships redirected. Meanwhile, tensions are also rising around the Red Sea after a deadly attack on the Egyptian-owned Tihamah near Bab al-Mandeb killed six people. Yemen’s government blamed suspected Houthi fighters, although the Houthis have not officially claimed responsibility.
