3:40Now PlayingRussia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said on August 20 that it detained a Russian citizen in Crimea on suspicion of high treason for allegedly transferring information about FSB border-control facilities to a representative of Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service. According to the FSB, the suspect used WhatsApp to transmit facility-location data that could potentially be used for sabotage operations or strikes. The arrest follows other recent Russia-announced espionage cases in Crimea involving alleged intelligence collection for Ukraine. The allegations have not been independently verified.
