8:20Now PlayingCanada has fired back at Donald Trump’s tariff offensive, announcing retaliatory duties on around $20 billion worth of US goods. Ottawa says the tariffs will match Washington dollar-for-dollar, with duties of up to 50% taking effect September 8. US steel, aluminum, furniture and clothing will face the highest rates, while cheese, seafood and appliances face 25% duties. Electronics and tools will also be targeted. Canada is simultaneously unveiling a C$7.5 billion support package for workers and businesses hit by the trade war, including interest-free loans of up to C$5 million.
