The development comes amid severe social media scrutiny over the clothes worn by Kriti Sanon in the advertisement. Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut too criticised Kriti Sanon for "tying rakhi in a bikini". Days after controversy, GIVA shared a statement on its official Instagram page, emphasising its respect for Indian culture and tradition. The jewellery brand said that they have withdrawn the commercial from all media "out of respect".
