Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev called Finnish President Alexander Stubb a real idiot and an imbecile in an explosive personal statement, mocking Stubb's reported argument at a Coalition of the Willing meeting in Kyiv that Ukrainian strikes on Wildberries logistics facilities constituted a sensible military strategy that could increase pressure on Moscow and push it toward negotiations. Medvedev described Stubb as having rock-bottom professional competence, called him a moral degenerate and a fool, and recalled Stubb's earlier tenure as Finland's foreign minister, saying nothing had changed in terms of his face or intellectual level. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov separately criticised Stubb, saying his support for Wildberries strikes was inconsistent with his previous calls for dialogue with Russia, and named him alongside British Prime Minister Andy Burnham as members of what Moscow calls the party of war, accusing Western leaders of misleading voters by claiming Russia could be defeated. Peskov also warned that Moscow needed to strengthen protection around strategically important enterprises following recent Ukrainian drone raids.
