Russia-EU Tensions: Kremlin Warns Of Full Blown 'Legal War' Over Frozen Russian Assets | WATCH

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described a proposal by Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain and Poland to resume work on using frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine as completely illegal actions that would have legal consequences, saying Russia would use its entire arsenal of legal means to protect its interests and prosecute those who make and implement such decisions. Peskov separately confirmed that US-Russia contacts were continuing at a working level and that Moscow remained open to continuing peace talks, responding to a question about Ukrainian military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov's suggestion that Russian and Ukrainian delegations could meet in September. The Kremlin spokesman also dismissed as newspaper ducks reports by The Wall Street Journal that Russia could carry out a limited attack on a NATO member country in the coming years, and declined to comment on whether CIA Director William Burns was travelling to Moscow, adding that Russia faced what he described as a very aggressive policy from European countries. Peskov noted that Putin was meeting FMBA head Veronika Skvortsova at the Kremlin on Thursday alongside other routine meetings.
