27:38Now PlayingCristina crosses the desert without knowing its risks and dangers. It takes her group more than two weeks to reach the U.S.—after five failed attempts. Exhaustion almost kills her, but the memory of her children gives her strength. When she arrives to Philadelphia, she finds a job as a dishwasher. She saves everything she can, returns to Mexico more than a year later and demands custody of her children. She wins. She opens a little diner at her parents' house. Soon after, her ex-husband reappears and continues to threaten to kill her. Her youngest son asks Cristina to leave to avoid being murdered, so she decides to cross the desert a second time. Cristina arrives to Philadelphia more empowered. As a welcome treat she gives herself a little tour of New York.
