In that restaurant, she meets young American chef Benjamin Miller, who soon offers her help. They marry a little over a year later, but she gets fired when her employers ‘discover’ her immigration status. Suddenly she’s selling quesadillas on the street. A depression leads her to found #Right2Work, a social movement aimed at changing immigration laws and giving undocumented immigrants the right to work legally in the U.S.
