That creates hostility with her coworkers, and a fight in the kitchen makes clear that Cristina will not tolerate abuse any longer. In that restaurant, she meets young American chef Benjamin Miller, who soon offers her help. They marry a little over a year later, but she gets fired when her employers ‘discover’ her immigration status. Suddenly she’s selling quesadillas on the street. A depression leads her to found #Right2Work, a social movement aimed at changing immigration laws and giving undocumented immigrants the right to work legally in the U.S.
