YouTube Description
as posted by the channelTex McIver, a prominent Atlanta Lawyer, has been married to Diane, a beautiful, successful business woman, for 11 years. After a weekend at their Putnam County ranch, the couple gets a ride back to their Atlanta condo from a close family friend, Dani Jo Carter. Diane sits in the passenger seat, Tex directly behind her. When the interstate traffic gets heavy, Carter takes an exit into Downtown Atlanta. Tex McIver says it was a bad area, so he asked his wife to hand him his gun. McIver says soon they were out of danger and he fell asleep with the weapon in his lap. He wakes up when Dani Jo stops the car, and a gunshot rings out. Tex McIver shot Diane in the back. Carter rushes McIver to the hospital, but she dies of the wound.
As friends offer condolences, most expect to see Tex McIver upset and in shock that he accidentally shot his wife. Instead, they find a man who seems more concerned about money. Within days of Diane's death, Tex asks about obtaining his wife's Social Security benefits and organizes an auction to sell his wife's possessions. It was later revealed that Tex McIver owed his wife nearly $350,000 used to build a 'guest' barn on the ranch.
#TexMcIver is initially charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct in the shooting death of his wife. However, the day after a judge sends McIver to jail, McIver is indicted on felony murder, aggravated assault, a gun charge, and influencing witnesses. McIver was found guilty of these charges and sentenced to life in prison, but an Atlanta judge has just overturned the conviction, and McIver is heading back to trial.
