as posted by the channelJulia Niswender's roommates are gone for the weekend. One returns to the apartment on Monday to pick up some things before class. She heads out without seeing Julia. The next day the roommate realizes she hasn't seen or talked to Julia in two days. Julia's bedroom door is locked so she calls security at the apartment complex to check on her roommate. The guard shows up with police, and uses a master key to open the door to Julia Niswender's room. It appears as if a home invasion has taken place.
Stepping through clothes and Julia's personal items dumped all over the floor, the officer opens the bathroom door and discovers Julia's lifeless body face down and submerged in the bathtub. Her hands are pulled behind her back, her feet are together, and her cell phone is found underneath her body. Niswender's clothes have been cut off and left on the bathroom floor.
Despite the appearance of a home invasion, wrapped Christmas presents, an iPod, a computer, and a TV are not taken from the room. DNA recovered from the crime scene does not match anyone in CODIS, and surveillance video of a potential suspect was taped over before police could collect it.
With no leads and no witnesses, the murder case of Julia Niswender turns cold.
