Kristi Noem is under fire after a congressional hearing raised serious questions about her $220 million DHS ad campaign, luxury jet spending, and whether she misled Congress about President Trump approving the ads.

During the hearing, Senator John Kennedy pressed the Homeland Security Secretary about the massive taxpayer-funded campaign. Noem testified that President Trump approved the spending. But hours later, Trump reportedly told Kennedy he had nothing to do with it, raising potential concerns about whether Congress was misled under oath.

But the controversy didn’t stop there.

Lawmakers also confronted Noem over her relationship with political adviser Corey Lewandowski. When asked directly whether she had sexual relations with him, Noem refused to give a clear yes or no — even as her husband sat directly behind her during the hearing.

Add in the $172 million luxury jet purchases, a $143 million contract awarded to a company formed just 8 days earlier, and critics are now asking whether the Department of Homeland Security was spending taxpayer money responsibly.
