Fort Bend County Judge KP George, the first South Asian county judge in Texas, is now a convicted felon after a scandal involving fake racist attacks and election manipulation. Prosecutors say George worked with his former chief of staff, Taral Patel, to stage racist social media posts in order to gain sympathy during elections — a move that ultimately backfired in a massive legal collapse.
The investigation revealed shocking evidence, including text messages allegedly showing George approving fake posts designed to make him appear like a victim of racism. What started as a historic political rise quickly turned into a criminal case involving impersonation, election interference, and ultimately felony money laundering convictions.
Patel was arrested and later pleaded guilty, agreeing to cooperate with authorities. Meanwhile, George was indicted, arrested, and ultimately convicted — putting his position as a sitting county judge in jeopardy and exposing one of the most bizarre political scandals in Texas.
This case raises serious questions about political manipulation, manufactured narratives, and how far some candidates are willing to go to win.
