The Post’s Danica Daniel explores the latest toxic dating trend, “voice-fishing.” It’s when singles disguise the sound of their voice on apps to dupe potential mates into thinking they’re someone else. Since Hinge added voice notes to their platform, half of users reported becoming less attracted after hearing a stranger’s voice.
“I’ve been told I have a really nice voice. I lean into the bedroom voice that I have. This is my sleepy, just-woke-up,” our host cooed. She says daters should embrace their real voice and share it with the world. One user, Max, used the feature to show off his musical talent and quirky personality by singing out a high-pitched rendition of “Part of Your World” from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.”
