Chrissie McCormick, who took this footage, told Storyful that her friend had spotted a falling rock while driving into the Food City parking lot, which prompted them to move to the middle of the lot.
“We didn’t really think the side of the mountain would fall,” McCormick said. “But as we kept recording and more rocks started to fall, we realized what was about to happen.”
Local news reported on Saturday that no one was injured from the incident, and while the area has been cleared, it is being blocked off for safety.
