1:51Now PlayingFrightening bodycam footage shows the moment cops found the body of a man who opened fire in an Ohio Walmart before turning the weapon on itself.
Benjamin Charles Jones, 20, of Dayton, injured four after shooting up a Walmart store around 8:30 p.m. Monday. Jones died from an “apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound” before he was discovered by authorities, the Beavercreek Police Department said.
Footage released by the Department on Tuesday shows the frantic moments of a first responder rushing into the store to find Jones.
The officer entered the store with his gun drawn as he slowly rounded Christmas decorations and made his way into the visitor’s center — where the shooter’s body was lying on the ground.
Jones had entered the store with a Hi-Point .45-caliber Carbine Long Gun and fired several rounds, cops said.
Police were unable to confirm exactly how many rounds he shot but witness Alisha Ring claimed the shooter walked right by her before he fired his weapon more than 10 times.
His victims were found scattered throughout the store, while he was found at the visitor’s center, which is located at the front of the Walmart.
Three of his victims are in stable condition, while one is in critical. He injured three women and one man.
