1:01Now PlayingAt least 15 people were killed and 30 others injured when a student opened fire on Thursday at a university in Prague — where young people seeking cover were huddled on the scaffolding of the building and under lockdown in classrooms, officials said.
The shooting broke out at Charles University’s Faculty of Arts building near the Czech Republic capital’s Old Town, which is a popular tourist destination, the Prague police said on X.
A few moments later, authorities confirmed that the shooter had been “eliminated” but that there were “several” dead and injured victims on the scene.
The shooter was tentatively identified David Kozák — who may also be linked to a violent death in the village of Kladensko before the shooting, the Czech news site Novinky.cz reported.
