According to the report, the town of Howell was linked to Robert E Miles, a prominent Ku Klux Klan member, who held meetings on a nearby farm in the 1970s. A Trump campaign spokesperson rejected criticism of the site of the event, promising Trump would speak against “hate of any form.”
Footage posted to X shows the Republican nominee signing autographs for supporters as they chant “Fight!” and “USA!” on Tuesday afternoon.
Trump was scheduled to speak at 3 pm Tuesday at the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. It will be his sixth visit to the state this year, according to local media.
