The AP's legal battle began when a reporter was excluded after refusing to use the term "Gulf of America" instead of "Gulf of Mexico" in its reporting, following Trump's executive order renaming the body of water. While some companies and outlets have adopted the new name, the AP and others have pushed back. The AP sued for First Amendment violations, but a judge denied its request for immediate reinstatement. The case continues, with a hearing scheduled for March 20th.
