YouTube Description
as posted by the channelPresident Trump has invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport alleged Venezuelan gang members to an El Salvador mega-prison. The rarely used law gives a US president sweeping wartime authority to deport non-citizens – without going before a judge. On Air Force One, Trump defended the move by equating the migrant crisis to "war, in many respects it’s more dangerous than war."
The last commander-in-chief to invoke the controversial act was Franklin D. Roosevelt during World War II. Under FDR, the United States infamously imprisoned tens of thousands of noncitizens of German, Italian and Japanese descent, at the time deemed "Enemy Aliens.”
