11:54Now PlayingA 45-year-old man is facing federal hate crime and attempted murder charges after allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails at a peaceful demonstration in Boulder, Colorado, on June 2. The attack injured at least 12 people, some in their late 80s, burning them as they walked to raise awareness for Israeli hostages held in Gaza. “He wanted them all to die,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Bishop Grewell, adding the suspect had “no regrets” and would “do it again.”
Authorities say the attacker, Mohamed Soliman, had planned the assault for a year and resorted to molotov cocktails after failing to buy a gun due to his immigration status. Police recovered 16 unused Molotov cocktails at the scene. Soliman faces life in federal prison. His bond was set at $10 million cash only. “We are united in condemning acts of anti-Semitism, hate and violence,” said Boulder County DA Michael Dougherty.
