4:12Now PlayingFormer Vice President Kamala Harris released a statement on Wednesday announcing that she will NOT seek the governorship of her home state of California …something she had been seriously weighing following her loss to Donald Trump in the 2024 election. She captioned the post containing the announcement as “My statement on the California governor's race and the fight ahead.” Significantly, she also remained vague as to what she planned on doing next. “I love this state, its people and its promise,” the 60-year-old said in the statement. “It is my home. But after deep reflection, I’ve decided that I will not run for governor in this election.” She continued: “For now, my leadership — and public service — will not be in elected office. I look forward to getting back out and listening to the American people, helping elect Democrats across the nation who will fight fearlessly, and sharing more details in the months ahead about my own plans.”
