The $1.6 billion resort is on an island off Albania and a undeveloped stretch of coastline near Vjosa-Narta protected landscape, which is a wetland home to flamingos, seals, and sea turtle nesting sites. Environmentalists oppose the plan, saying it would impact a multitude of pristine beaches.
