2:19Now PlayingA 5.5 magnitude earthquake rocked Peru's Junín region on July 18, violently shaking homes and sending residents fleeing into the streets. The quake killed at least five people and caused damage to buildings, roads, schools, hospitals and power infrastructure, leaving thousands without electricity. Centered near Chupaca, the tremor was felt across the Mantaro Valley and was followed by several aftershocks as emergency crews continued search and rescue efforts and assessed the damage.
