1:02Now PlayingRep. Nancy Mace questioned National Museum of American History Director Anthea Hartig during a House Oversight subcommittee hearing, asking her to define what a woman is amid allegations of political activism at the museum. Mace argued that womanhood is strictly biological, a position she has used to support legislation restricting trans women from female spaces. Hartig defended the museum's inclusive approach, saying that examining diverse lived experiences provides important context for understanding American history.
