1:37Now PlayingA record-setting cyclosporiasis outbreak in the United States has turned deadly, with Michigan health officials reporting the first two known deaths linked to the intestinal parasite. Officials said the victims had underlying health conditions worsened by severe dehydration. The outbreak has spread across at least nine states and has been linked by the FDA to iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms operations in central Mexico. Health experts warn the number of cases could continue rising, with estimates reaching about 22,000 nationwide, while some have raised concerns about changes to disease tracking requirements in 2025.
