President Trump is looking to win back the affordability issue from Democrats and with nearly 100 million Americans carrying credit card debt, he’s proposing a cap on interest rates at 10%. That would be a big cut in a market where some companies charge more than 35%. Is the plan too good to be true and would it lead credit card companies to reject applications from Americans with lower credit scores? Hal Lambert, former Texas GOP finance chair and Brian Shearer, a former top aide to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau who is now the director of Competition and Regulatory Policy at the Vanderbilt Policy Accelerator, debate.

Actor Timothy Busfield, best known for “Thirtysomething,” “The West Wing” and “Field of Dreams,” had his first court appearance on charges of child sex abuse in New Mexico on Wednesday. He’s accused of inappropriately touching twin boys, allegedly starting with one of them when they were 7 years old. Busfield firmly denies the allegations. A third accusation surfaced from the father who says his daughter was groped by Busfield when she was 16 years old. So, if these cases rely on one person’s word against another, how will the prosecution go about proving its case? Jesse Weber, NewsNation legal analyst and the network’s new host of its 11 p.m. show “Jesse Weber Live,” breaks down the case.
