1:03:02Now PlayingI debate a pro-Palestinian man about Gaza, October 7, Hamas, the West Bank, Israeli settlements, the United Nations and the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
A major part of the debate focuses on the claim that 83% of Gaza casualties were civilians. I challenge how the report categorizes named and unnamed fighters, other armed groups and collaborators, then reverse the methodology and ask whether he would trust the same kind of report if it produced a pro-Israel conclusion. After repeatedly pressing the question, he says he would not.
From there, I debate the Oslo Accords, Areas A, B and C, settler violence and prosecution, and pull up B’Tselem’s fatalities database during the conversation.
The debate later moves into violence against Jews before the modern State of Israel, the development of Palestinian identity, pre-1948 institutions, the history of the land, the UAE and what happened after Israel withdrew from Gaza.
Watch the full debate and decide whether the same standards are being applied to both sides.
